Audio

Turbosound is a UK-based company that designs and manufactures professional audio systems, including loudspeakers, subwoofers, and associated equipment. The company has a reputation for high-quality audio products with innovative designs.

One of their key innovations is the Polyhorn, a term that refers to a series of horn-loaded loudspeakers that use multiple, custom-designed waveguides to create a more uniform and controlled sound dispersion pattern. This is in contrast to traditional horn-loaded designs, which can result in irregular dispersion and poor off-axis response.

The Polyhorn design aims to provide a more even frequency response and wider dispersion, which is particularly useful in live sound reinforcement and large venue installations where consistent audio coverage is critical. This technology helps to ensure that audience members throughout the space hear a consistent sound quality, regardless of their location.

Turbosound’s Polyhorn technology has been used in several of their loudspeaker products, such as the TMS series and the FLASHLINE series. These loudspeakers have been praised for their performance, durability, and audio quality.

Overall, the Turbosound Polyhorn is a significant advancement in horn-loaded loudspeaker design that offers improved

  1. Controlled dispersion: The Polyhorn design helps create a more uniform and controlled sound dispersion pattern, which can lead to better audio coverage and a more consistent listening experience for the audience.
  2. Wider frequency response: The multiple waveguides in the Polyhorn design can produce a wider and more even frequency response, which contributes to a more natural and accurate sound reproduction.
  3. Improved off-axis response: Traditional horn-loaded speakers may suffer from poor off-axis response, which can result in uneven sound coverage. The Polyhorn design addresses this issue, ensuring a more consistent audio experience for listeners regardless of their position in the venue.
  4. Application-specific designs: Turbosound’s product range includes speakers that are designed for specific applications, such as live sound reinforcement, installation in large venues, or portable PA systems. This allows users to choose a speaker system that is tailored to their needs.
